The Final Three Survivors - Completed (Zombicide)

Ok - decided I would paint these last few up and not leave the set feeling incomplete. They aren't the best work I've ever done, but work great for playing the game I think :)  Now I have to photograph and figure out a price for the set etc.

Zombicide - Amy

With the completion of Amy I have basically painted up the complete Zombicide "basic" set (what you would get at retail) plus all the extra Abomination Kickstarter zombies. The only question that remains is if I have the endurance to paint the three additional bonus survivors.

Space Marine Blood Ravens Tactical Squad

Here's the finished squad - they seemed to take me forever to complete. Not sure why - I even skimped on some of the details like on the backpacks. Also I notice a couple of spots I need to fix up like a dot of grey on the powerfist. Other than that, fairly happy with them.

Zombicide...lurching towards the finish line

Finally completed the last of the zombies in my Abomination level season 1 Zombicide set. Now there's basically just one "base set" survivor (the Goth chick) and then the three promo ones...'course, survivors take longer than zombies with my production line setup.

If I can get those done I'll probably put the entire set up on ebay. TBD. I don't want to part with it after all this work, but at the same time my hobby spending has been a little "extreme" lately :|

Convergence of Cyriss - Painted Forgefather and Cypher

Two more Convergence models completed: Forgefather Syntherion and a Cypher heavy vector. There are visible seams/lines on the vector despite my best efforts - that said, reading the PP forums it's obvious this starter box had quality control issues and I'm not the only one having trouble with cleaning/prepping them :)

Warmachine Convergence of Cyriss - Steelsoul Keg Protector (PAX) Painted

Finished up another Cyriss model - the Steelsoul Keg Protector from PAX. These are fast and pretty fun to paint up - the main thing I struggle with is the "blue glow". I've always had trouble with that, even with Cygnar models. Also, I had trouble seeing the details on her face with my aging eyes - it was just a glaring shine :)  Pretty happy with her overall though.

Warmachine - Convergence of Cyriss Axis

Hi folks,

Something different for a change - I painted up the Axis I picked up at PAX. Cool model! He looks quite shiny in the photo (and in RL I suppose) because I opted to go very light with matte varnish (just brushed on in specific spots) in order to preserve the metallics. I was hoping it would turn out a bit neater overall, but still satisfied especially in person.

For my own records, this is how I painted him:

- black primer
- Basecoat with Reaper Master Honed Steel (AB)
- Wash with Secret Weapon Soft Body Black
- Highlight with Mithril Silver (AB)
- Darker metal panels are Reaper Master Skunkworks metallic
- various touch ups of the metallic areas and panel lining etc with those colors
- White is Administratum  Celestra Grey then Ceramite White
- The brass is done with a 50/50 mix of Vallejo Tinny Tin and Bright Bronze, then Washed with Agrax Earthshade, then the mix again, then the mix plus some P3 Brass Balls, then Brass Balls by itself.
- Arcane areas are ceramite white, then washed with arcane blue (basically just like the tutorial in the Cyriss book)
- Base is Gun Corps Brown, washed with Vallejo Umbre wash, drybrushed GW zhandri dust, then drybrushed with Ushabti Bone. Tufts are Army Painter Wilderness tufts.
